The companies mark two years since launching their AI infrastructure partnership. Dell has released over 240 products, updates and releases within the Dell AI Factory portfolio during this period.
Dell announced a strategic partnership with Canadian data center operator HIVE Digital Technologies through subsidiary BUZZ High Performance Computing. The deal deploys GPU compute clusters powered by Nvidia Blackwell chips in a 63-node cluster of liquid-cooled Dell PowerEdge XE9680L servers operating 504 GPUs.
The HIVE deployment targets growing BUZZ’s AI Cloud capacity to over 11,000 GPUs by 2026. This expansion could generate an additional $120 million in annual revenue with an 80% operating margin after electrical and data center costs.
“The Dell AI Factory with Nvidia provides a unified, vertically integrated data foundation that brings analytics as well as AI together in a single stack,” said Varun Chhabra, senior vice president at Dell Technologies’ Infrastructure Solutions Group.
The partnership focuses on emerging agentic AI systems. “The word that I think is top of mind for everybody is agentic,” Chhabra said. “With OpenClaw and the announcements Nvidia made around NemoClaw, it does feel like we’re at that ChatGPT moment for agentic.”
Anne Hecht, senior director at Nvidia, explained the infrastructure demands. “You can set an agent to do a task and then come back in the morning and it’s done it,” she said. “You need systems that actually can support that level of inference, like almost always on inference at scale.”
Dell’s AI infrastructure delivers performance improvements including 12x faster vector indexing and up to 3x faster SQL queries. The Dell Lightning File System provides up to 150 GB per second per rack unit.
The server market is projected to grow 31% with AI servers driving 55% growth to $162 billion, according to analysis from 650 Group and IDC. Dell competes with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Super Micro Computer and Lenovo for market share.
The Sovereign AI movement drives additional demand as governments invest billions in domestic AI infrastructure for national security. Dell serves as the preferred partner for multi-billion-dollar sovereign projects.
Enterprise AI adoption shifts from experimentation to production as AI code assistants and agentic workflows reduce development costs and timelines. CIOs increasingly choose in-house AI development on owned infrastructure.
