Salesforce and Google Partner to Let AI Agents Work Across Platforms

Quick Facts

  • Salesforce Agentforce agents can now access Google Workspace apps like Docs and Slides without copying data
  • Partnership builds on 1,400+ existing customers using Gemini within Agentforce platform
  • New integrations roll out in stages from April through late 2026

Salesforce and Google Cloud announced an expanded partnership that lets AI agents execute workflows across both platforms without moving customer data between systems. The companies revealed the collaboration at Cloud Next ’26 in Las Vegas on April 22.

The partnership addresses what Google calls the “toggling tax” — the average employee loses two hours of productivity daily switching between disconnected systems. Salesforce AI agents can now reach into Google Workspace apps like Docs, Slides and Drive to retrieve context and complete complex tasks.

“Businesses are ready to go all in on agentic AI, and that requires infrastructure and models that can operate across the entire enterprise,” said Srini Tallapragada, President and Chief Engineering Officer at Salesforce. “Our deepened partnership with Google Cloud gives joint customers exactly that.”

The rollout includes several stages. Agentforce Sales in Gemini Enterprise entered open beta immediately, available on the Gemini Enterprise Marketplace. Gemini Enterprise in Slack and new BigQuery connectors launched in April 2026. Gemini-powered reasoning for Agentforce arrives in May 2026, with additional features rolling out through late 2026.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said the company’s Agentforce and Data 360 products hit nearly $1.4 billion in annual recurring revenue, up 114% year-over-year. The platform now processes 3.2 trillion tokens and has over 9,500 paid deals.

Customer Pepkor consolidated customer profiles from 64 million to 24 million using the integrated platforms, increasing personalization reach by 25%. The retailer gained deeper insights into customer behavior across brands without moving data between systems.

“Customer data can stay where it is,” the companies said in a joint statement. “Agentforce will be able to natively read data from Google Lakehouse with no copying, moving, or security risk.”

The zero-copy integration with Google Lakehouse will let Agentforce agents read and act on data stored in Google Cloud without transferring it first. This approach builds on technology already used by hundreds of customers across Salesforce Data 360 and Google BigQuery.

Wayfair CTO Fiona Tan said the partnership supports the furniture retailer’s vision of an “Agentic Enterprise” with intelligent agents embedded across operations from customer service to logistics. Bionic Group CTO James Lomas said the integration provides agents with advanced intelligence and deeper context for decision-making.

CRM shares rose 1% in premarket trading following the announcement. Salesforce maintains a market capitalization of approximately $153.07 billion.
