Replit Hits $9B Valuation in $400M Series D, Targeting Non-Technical Users

Quick Facts

  • Replit raised $400 million Series D at $9 billion valuation, tripling from $3 billion in September 2025
  • Company targets $1 billion annual recurring revenue by end of 2026, up from $150 million current run rate
  • New Agent 4 product focuses on non-technical users through canvas interface and parallel execution capabilities

Replit announced Wednesday it raised $400 million in Series D funding at a $9 billion valuation, tripling its worth in just six months. Georgian Partners led the round with participation from G Squared, Prysm Capital, Coatue, Andreessen Horowitz, and corporate ventures including Databricks and Accenture.

The AI coding platform was valued at $3 billion in September 2025. The new funding makes founder and CEO Amjad Masad a billionaire for the first time, worth $2 billion according to Forbes estimates.

Replit reported $150 million in annualized revenue during its September funding announcement. Leadership expressed confidence in reaching $1 billion in annual recurring revenue by the end of 2026. Users from 85% of Fortune 500 companies have teams building on the platform.

Agent 4 Targets Non-Programmers

The company launched Agent 4, its fastest AI coding assistant that runs multiple coding agents simultaneously. The product features a digital canvas where users can tweak mockups, doodle new features, and collaborate in real time without traditional code editing.

‘We don’t care about professional coders anymore,’ Masad said. ‘It’s time for non-coders to begin learning how to use AI tools to build software themselves.’

Agent 4 is 10 times faster than its predecessor and focuses on keeping users in creative flow through tighter iteration loops and fewer context switches. The company positions the tool for non-technical workers including sales staff, marketers and small business owners.

Competing Against Claude and Cursor

Replit faces intense competition in the AI coding market. Anthropic’s Claude Code reached $2.5 billion in annualized revenue, while Cursor grew to more than $2 billion over the last three months. OpenAI’s Codex product has 1.6 million weekly active users.

‘I think the AI coding market has split into two segments — tools for professional developers and tools for everyone else,’ an industry observer noted. ‘For everyone else — and this is the larger market — Replit is making two bets with Agent 4.’

Enterprise customers including Zillow, Databricks, PayPal and Adobe use Replit to build internal apps. Zillow has roughly 600 Replit seats for employees who created more than 7,000 apps using the tool over the past year.

Y Combinator co-founder Paul Graham, an early investor, posted on social media: ‘Amjad showed me Replit’s latest stuff. They’re about to redefine vibe coding in a way that will seem obvious in retrospect.’
