Quick Facts
- Salesforce Q2 FY27 revenue hit a record $11.35 billion, up 10.8% year over year, with adjusted EPS of $5.90 beating consensus by $2.63.
- Agentforce ARR exceeded $1.5 billion, up more than 240% year over year, with 3.2 billion Agentic Work Units delivered in Q2 alone.
- Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce, a strategic partnership making Claude the default model across Slack AI, Agentforce, and Salesforce’s engineering organization.
Salesforce reported a record quarter on August 26, erasing doubts that agentic AI would destroy the SaaS business model. The company posted $11.35 billion in Q2 fiscal 2027 revenue, up 11% from a year earlier, and adjusted earnings of $5.90 per share, which beat Wall Street’s consensus by $2.63, or 80.4%.
Free cash flow climbed 81% year over year to $1.1 billion. Subscription and support revenue, the core of the company’s business, rose 12% year over year to $10.8 billion. The quarter also included a $456 million revenue contribution from Informatica, which Salesforce acquired in fiscal 2026.
The stock rose 12.68% in after-hours trading to $231.70, after closing the regular session at $205.62.
The SaaSpocalypse Backdrop
The results arrive six months after a market selloff that erased roughly $285 billion from SaaS company valuations in 48 hours. The February 2026 rout, which Jefferies equity trader Jeffrey Favuzza labeled a “SaaSpocalypse” in comments cited by Bloomberg, was triggered by Anthropic’s launch of Claude Cowork. Investors concluded that AI agents could replace the knowledge work that SaaS companies had long charged per seat to support.
Salesforce fell 26% during that period. By mid-March 2026, the software index was trading nearly 20% below its 200-day moving average, the widest gap since the dot-com crash of 2000.
CEO Marc Benioff rejected that story on the earnings call. “This is not the SaaSpocalypse,” he said, arguing that customers are deploying AI through software platforms rather than replacing them.
Agentforce Numbers
Agentforce ARR exceeded $1.5 billion, up more than 240% year over year. Combined Agentforce and Data 360 ARR reached nearly $3.9 billion, with triple-digit year-over-year growth. Salesforce delivered 7.0 billion Agentic Work Units across Agentforce and Slack to date, with 3.2 billion in Q2 alone, growing 97% quarter over quarter.
Slack posted its fastest quarterly Net New Annual Order Value growth since its acquisition. Slackbot users grew more than 150% quarter over quarter. Management said bookings are growing at triple-digit rates, with more customers moving into production and adopting consumption-based pricing through Flex Credits.
Data 360 ingested 104 trillion records in Q2, up 355% year over year, including 82 trillion via Zero Copy, up 731% year over year.
The Claudeforce Partnership
Salesforce and Anthropic announced a product called Claudeforce, an expanded partnership that brings Claude’s reasoning into Salesforce’s data, workflows, and governance. Claude is now the default model for Slack AI, Slackbot, Agentforce Coworker, and Salesforce’s internal engineering tools.
The partnership launches with a plugin called “Salesforce in Claude,” which includes 37 prebuilt sales skills. The tool lets sellers and agents reason over live revenue data, automate pipeline updates, and take actions directly from Claude’s interface.
“This is the number one AI in the world, Anthropic, and the number one CRM, Salesforce, coming together for the first time in an incredibly powerful way,” Benioff said.
Monetization Path
Chief Operating and Financial Officer Robin Washington said the company is capturing AI revenue through premium product tiers. “The way we’re delivering this is through our premium upgrades,” she said, adding that customers gain “innovation in the moment” through higher-end editions.
Benioff argued that the highest value in AI sits at the application layer, where companies can combine proprietary data, workflows, and governance with AI models. He said customers are not asking for competing AI models; they want working business applications.
