Quick Facts
- Salesforce and Anthropic launched Claudeforce, giving Claude users direct access to live CRM data, workflows, and Tableau through a new AIforce integration layer.
- The partnership is reciprocal: Salesforce runs Claude as its default model across Slack, while Anthropic uses Salesforce as its own CRM, with Sales Cloud usage growing fivefold in Q1.
- Salesforce reported $11.35 billion in quarterly revenue, up 11% year over year, with Agentforce AI products generating $1.5 billion in annualized revenue, up 240%.
Salesforce and Anthropic announced a sweeping expansion of their partnership called Claudeforce, embedding the world’s largest customer relationship management platform directly inside Claude. The move allows sales teams to query, update, and act on live CRM data without opening Salesforce at all.
The centerpiece product, Salesforce in Claude, ships with 37 pre-built sales skills covering meeting preparation, deal health reviews, and pipeline analysis. It is built on AIforce, Salesforce’s enterprise integration layer that connects Claude to Data 360, Tableau, Slack, and Salesforce workflows through MCP servers, APIs, and CLI tools.
Claude is the first large language model provider fully integrated within the Salesforce Trust Boundary. An administrator connects the integration once, and every seller on the team gets access immediately with no per-user setup required.
What executives said
Salesforce Chair and CEO Marc Benioff described the product as a fusion of AI reasoning and enterprise data infrastructure. “Probabilistic intelligence alone doesn’t run a company, and deterministic systems don’t reason,” Benioff said. “By fusing Claude’s extraordinary reasoning with the trusted data, workflows, and governance every enterprise runs on, we’re delivering a dynamic interface that thinks, reasons, and acts.”
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said the partnership lets companies act on decades of accumulated customer data. “Through this partnership, companies can point Claude at the customer information and business context that they’ve been building in Salesforce for decades, and use it to actually run and grow their businesses,” he said.
Benioff also pushed back on the narrative that AI models will displace traditional SaaS platforms. Speaking on CNBC’s “Mad Money,” he said nine of the 10 leading AI companies use Salesforce and Slack, with spending on those platforms up 435% from a year ago. Salesforce shares rose more than 12% following the announcement.
The numbers behind the deal
Salesforce reported quarterly revenue of $11.35 billion, beating the $11.32 billion analyst estimate and marking an 11% year-over-year increase. Net income reached $3.53 billion, up 87% from the prior year. The company recorded a $2.6 billion gain on strategic investments tied to its Anthropic stake.
Agentforce AI products crossed $1.5 billion in annualized revenue, a 240% increase year over year. Agentic work units, Salesforce’s measure of completed AI tasks, grew 111% quarter over quarter to 3.8 billion. Token processing jumped 152% to 28.6 trillion. Salesforce has logged 4.5 million MCP calls since launching Headless 360 in March 2026.
Annual recurring revenue from AI and data products is approaching $4 billion, according to Benioff. The company raised its fiscal 2027 revenue outlook to between $46.1 billion and $46.4 billion, up from its prior range of $45.9 billion to $46.2 billion.
During the quarter, Salesforce also announced a $1.6 billion contract from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and plans to acquire customer service startup Fin for $3.6 billion.
Availability
Salesforce in Claude is currently available to a select group of pilot customers. The company expects an open beta in September 2026, with additional pre-built skills launching in Q3 2026. Salesforce’s annual Dreamforce conference, scheduled for Sept. 15-17 in San Francisco, is expected to serve as the next major platform for product announcements tied to the partnership.
