Nvidia has acquired Kumo AI, a predictive analytics startup, for more than $400 million. The acquisition adds enterprise AI software capabilities to Nvidia’s expanding portfolio beyond hardware.
The Mountain View startup builds machine learning models that predict business outcomes using structured enterprise data. Kumo’s technology allows companies to plug models directly into data warehouses like Snowflake or Databricks without complex data pipelines.
Kumo’s three co-founders have updated their LinkedIn profiles to show they are now Nvidia employees. The founders include Vanja Josifovski, former CTO at Airbnb and Pinterest, Jure Leskovec, a Stanford computer scientist and graph neural network co-creator, and Hema Raghavan, former LinkedIn executive.
The startup raised $37 million in two funding rounds in 2022, with Sequoia Capital as the lead investor. Its customer base includes Reddit Inc., DoorDash Inc. and UK grocery chain J Sainsbury plc.
Kumo specializes in graph neural network technology that treats databases as interconnected graphs. This approach preserves complete data structure and uncovers patterns lost during traditional data flattening processes.
“With the foundation model, you point it to your data, you define what you mean by churn, and a second later, you get the prediction,” Leskovec explained about the technology’s ease of use.
In April 2026, Kumo launched KumoRFM-2, which the company claims is the first foundation model to outperform traditional machine learning methods on complex, multi-table relational data.
The acquisition continues Nvidia’s aggressive M&A strategy. The company has acquired over 100 startups in recent years to build a comprehensive AI ecosystem. Recent deals include a $20 billion acqui-hire of AI inference company Groq in December 2025 and data semantics company Illumex in February 2026.
An Nvidia executive disclosed the acquisition in a LinkedIn post, though Nvidia declined to comment on the deal. The acquisition comes after Nvidia unveiled new AI software and hardware products at the COMPUTEX conference in Taiwan.
